Hospitality Properties Trust (Nasdaq: HPT) is a real estate investment trust, or REIT, that was founded through an initial public offering in 1995. As of June 30, 2019, HPT owns 328 hotels and owns or leases 179 travel centers located throughout the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. Our properties are operated by other companies under long term management or lease agreements. We are included in a number of financial indices, including the S&P 400 MidCap Index, the Russell 1000ÂŽ, the MSCI US REIT Index, S&P REIT Composite Index and the FTSE EPRA/NAREIT United States Index.
