LRAD Corporation introduced its first directed sound technology in 1996 and began engineering acoustic solutions for government and commercial markets. In response to the October 2000 attack on the USS Cole, the Companyâs engineering team developed the revolutionary Long Range Acoustic DeviceÂŽ and created a new industry. In 2008, the Company unveiled its next-generation LRAD-XÂŽ product line ranging from the hand-portable LRAD 100X to the remotely operable LRAD-RXÂŽ.
In 2013, the Company launched a line of multidirectional mass notification systems featuring LRADâs unparalleled area coverage, exceptional vocal clarity, and unmatched reliability. The Company acquired distributed recipient software solutions provider, Genasysâ˘, in 2018. LRADÂŽ systems are in service in 72 countries around the world in diverse applications including mass notification, defense, law enforcement and public safety, homeland and border security, critical infrastructure protection, fire rescue and emergency management, maritime and port security, and wildlife control and preservation.
