The first adult-use cannabis shop in Boston finally opened its doors recently, after more than three years since voters approved recreational consumption. The Cannabis Control Commission in Boston gave the Dorchester shop its final approval last week.
The shop is called Pure Oasis and is the first facility to take advantage of the economic empowerment program in Boston. Now that Pure Oasis has gotten the ball rolling, more shops will gain licenses and open up in Boston. Since taxes in Boston are relatively low compared to the national average, dispensaries and retail locations have the opportunity to earn significant revenue, which should catch the attention of cannabis investors who are no longer interested in putting their money into volatile pot stocks.
