Ontario Regulators Soliciting Feedback from Stakeholders Regarding Public Cannabis Consumption

Lawmakers in Ontario, Canada recently announced that they would hear feedback from public stakeholders regarding the possibility of allowing cannabis users to consume in places like lounges, as well as outdoor festivals and concert venues. The potential expansion is an attempt to expand the private cannabis sector in Ontario, with an aim to reduce the black market.

If the public consumption laws in Ontario were to expand, Canna-Friendly tour companies, like Canada High Tours, could benefit greatly. Much of these cannabis tours are currently confined to buses and private spots, but that could all change if the laws change as well.

"Ontario continues to take a responsible approach to cannabis retail sales across Ontario, allowing private sector businesses to build a safe and convenient retail system to combat the illegal market while keeping our kids and communities safe," said Attorney General Doug Downey.
