WeedMaps Weeds Out Black Market Cannabis Ads in Michigan

In an effort to continue to legitimize the legal cannabis industry in the U.S., WeedMaps has begun removing and banning cannabis companies that can’t prove that they have valid state business license numbers in Michigan. Michigan regulators requested that WeedMaps begin doing this in December of 2019 when recreational use became legal in the state.

This push for legitimacy could mean that WeedMaps, the Yelp of Cannabis, will see a higher valuation and revenue generation in 2020 - especially if regulators in other states follow in Michigan’s footsteps and request that WeedMaps and demand the popular site check licenses.
