Facebook plans to let users gain more control of their digital privacy by implementing a few key elements that will make it easier for them to understand how their data is being shared and how they can monitor and control it.
The social giant will prompt users to check their privacy settings and to utilize the “Off-Facebook Activity” tool that shows how and where consumer information is used to target advertisements with the option to clear that information from their account.
Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook Founder and Chief Executive Officer, explains “One of our main goals for the next decade is to build much stronger privacy protections for everyone on Facebook. We know we have a lot of work to do here, which is why this is such a priority for our teams and for me personally.”
