Social media accounts have spread false information about Hong Kong protests prompting Facebook and Twitter to quickly disable and remove the accounts.
The accounts portrayed violent protests and misinformed the public about the actual situation.
Facebook has released a statement explaining, "We're constantly working to detect and stop this type of activity because we don’t want our services to be used to manipulate people".
