Tensions rise for Facebook as the media giant continues to violate multiple privacy laws. This time it landed in a federal court of appeals for collecting facial recognition data.
Facebook faces more potential monetary damages but plans to continue the appeal process claiming it has always been transparent about its use of facial recognition.
Shawn Williams, one of the plaintiff's lawyer, explains, "This biometric data is so sensitive that if it is compromised, there is simply no recourse. It’s not like a Social Security card or credit card number where you can change the number. You can’t change your face.”
