In May of 2018, the social media giant announced its plans to launch Facebook Dating. Along with 19 other regions, now singles in the United States can use Facebook to find a potential mate.
Facebook allows users to create a dating profile separate from their personal one. With the massive amounts of data points stored by the company, users are able to see suggested matches based on commonalities.
Nathan Sharp, Product Manager, Facebook Dating, explains, “Facebook Dating makes it easier to find love through what you like — helping you start meaningful relationships through things you have in common, like interests, events and groups. It takes the work out of creating a dating profile and gives you a more authentic look at who someone is.”
