In its attempt to remain one of the largest tech giants, Gogle plans to purchase Fitbit, a wearable technology company.
The $2.1B dollar deal raises privacy concerns over consumer health data since the technology tracks the users steps per day and other fitness routines.
James Park, Fitbt's Chief Executive, explains,“You will always be in control of your data, and we will remain transparent about the data we collect and why. We never sell your personal information, and Fitbit health and wellness data will not be used for Google ads."
