Jack Dorsey, C.E.O. of Twitter, was hacked on Friday. Hackers broke into his Twitter account to claim that the company’s San Francisco headquarters would be bombed and also posted a string of offensive messages that were quickly removed.
Although Dorsey told a Senate committee last September that his account had dual authentication, a hack of this size highlights the loopholes in online security. Regardless of protective measures, high profile accounts are still at risk.
Twitter stated, “We’re aware that @jack was compromised and investigating what happened. There is no indication that Twitter’s systems have been compromised.”
