NBC is starting its own streaming service, Peacock, which is set to debut in April.
The streaming service name aligns well with their brand, but they are entering a competitive market, placing themselves next to big names like Netflix and Hulu. Other streaming services to recently surface into the streaming competition include Disney Plus, Apple TV Plus and HBO Max.
Bonnie Hammer, Peacock Chairwoman, explains, "We are going to be very strategic in what we choose and develop based on the legacy of the content we have. We will have the entire library of ‘The Office’ and ‘Parks and Rec.’ What better than a new show by the same creator that will run beside it?”
