Out Magazine is a LGBTQ publication under the parent company, Pride Media. The company let go of its editor in chief, Phillip Picardi.
Along with Picardi, as many as 11 other staffers were let go. The company was faced with financial implications leading to cutting expenditures.
Phillip Picardi, outgoing Editor in Chief, Out Magazine explains, "The urgency of the L.G.B.T.Q. press is what everyone should be talking about right now, because we’re heading to an election.”
