ESPN partners with Quibi, a short-form video content company ran by Jeffrey Katzenberg, who was once the chairman of Walt Disney Studios as well as a founder of DreamWorks.
ESPN plans to air sports highlights as part of the Quibi’s Daily Essentials. It is the type of content that aims to gauge a younger demographic to view on their mobile devices.
Connor Schell, Executive Vice President of Content for ESPN, explains “If there is an audience building around a sports conversation and looking for sports content, we want to be there, we want to lead that. We think Quibi is a natural extension of that.”
