Facebook’s launch of its news section is coming soon — possibly by the end of this month. According to the Wall Street Journal, Facebook will pay some, but not all publications involved in writing those stories

Facebook plans to utilize something similar to its Watch tab where all the videos are not paid for by Facebook. Negotiations are still underway about how much reporting the tech giant can put in its news section.

Campbell Brown, Facebook’s vice president of global news partnerships, explains, “We’ve been working closely with news organizations to get this right by emphasizing original reporting and making it much easier to find the most relevant news on Facebook.”
