Two leading iBuying companies - Zillow and Opendoor - are paying home sellers close to market prices, according to a study by Mike DelPrete, a leading real estate industry author and analysts. The study looked at 20,000 transactions and determined that the iBuying firms charged a [6% to 9% fee](https://www.wsj.com/articles/zillow-opendoor-pay-close-to-market-value-for-homes-study-says-11573564580?mod=searchresults&page=1&pos=1) vs. the typical 5% to 6% commission paid on most home sales. 

“You can say pretty conclusively that iBuyers are making fair offers on the homes they buy,” said Mr. DelPrete.
