Millennials are bailing out of large cities and heading for “Hipsturbia”, urban-like towns in the suburbs, according to “Emerging Real Estate Trends”, a comprehensive study by the Urban Land Institute and PriceWaterhouseCoopers. This exodus is to small cities that are “walkable” and feature vibrant downtown areas, public transportation and restaurants.
According to Linsey Rothman, a real estate agent located just outside New York City, “…now I’m seeing more and more young people who are just looking for a different lifestyle that’s a little quieter yet has that city feel.”
