Realogy is suing Compass for “unfair business practices and illegal schemes”, claiming that Compass fixes prices, overpays new employees and encourages recruits to violate employment agreements. However, a number of antitrust experts feel Realogy’s suit is misguided because their allegations will be hard to prove.
This is the 10th time the $4.4 billion brokerage has been sued since 2014.
George Hay, former director of the U.S. Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division says that Realogy’s claims are “just allegations” and “allegations are not that hard to make.”
