The besieged office space sharing company WeWork would have run out of money next week had Softbank – one of their major backers – not agreed to additional funding, according to CNBC. This additional capital will give Softbank an [80% ownership stake in the company](https://www.cnbc.com/2019/10/23/without-deal-wework-would-have-been-out-of-money-next-friday-sources-say.html).

Due to a series of missteps, WeWork’s value has declined from $47 billion to $8 billion.
