With 89% of hospitals using fax machines and 39% using pagers, healthcare systems need to implement modern technology solutions.
Recent studies have shown that up to 75% of patients notice and are frustrated by the use of outdated technology in healthcare systems, which they believe causes inefficiencies in their care. Patients identified different technological communication preferences that do not align with hospital tools today, such as patient portals. Estimates put the cost of these inefficiencies at $4 million annually.
“Despite the fact that quality healthcare is vital to the well-being and functioning of a society, the shocking lack of communication innovation comes at a steep price, resulting in chronic delays, increased operational costs that are often passed down to the public, preventable medical errors, physician burnout, and in the worst cases, can even lead to death,” said Brad Brooks, CEO of TigerConnect.
