Through the use of cloud-based software, healthcare IT companies are [eliminating inefficiencies](https://www.cio.com/article/3435759/cloud-fax-provides-interoperable-solutions-for-healthcare-ehrs-today.html) in the current data transmission process, which heavily relies on manually faxed records. The new process integrates faxing protocol embedded within the electronic medical record, to generate faxes containing necessary information but eliminating the need for manual processing.
