The mental health and healthcare artificial intelligence sectors [hit record highs](https://www.fiercehealthcare.com/tech/venture-capital-investment-ai-and-mental-health-startups-surges-q2-report) in the second quarter of 2019 due to investment by large players Google, Centene, and Norwest Venture Partners, among others. Startups in these fields have seen consistent quarter over quarter growth and significant increases over prior years. 

Healthcare artificial intelligence funding increased 13% over the same quarter last year, and mental health and wellness funding increased 41% year over year.
