Two Princeton economists say the healthcare industry is responsible for the opioid crisis

The cost of care, not coverage, is the problem deemed by two economists at Princeton University. They charge opioids were released to the community without appropriate care and controls in place, resulting in the epidemic facing the country today. 

The economists explain that the healthcare industry is to blame for the opioid crisis by introducing the pharmaceuticals without understanding the ramifications of use and lack of policies and procedures for administering and managing use.
