Additional Possible Design Flaw Found in the 737 Max

During the rigorous design reviews conducted on the Boeing 737 MAX, a second, unrelated potential flaw was discovered

The company informed the FAA that it is looking into whether two sections of wiring that control the tail are too close together and could cause a short circuit.

According to a Boeing spokesperson, the issue had been identified in the course of a "rigorous process" to “ensure the plane's safety.”

He continued, "Our highest priority is ensuring the 737 Max meets all safety and regulatory requirements before it returns to service,"

Boeing’s new selected CEO, David Calhoun, will encounter significant challenges in successfully returning the 737 MAX to production, and being able to sell the updated aircraft.

Prior to suspending production, Boeing was producing 42 737 MAX aircraft per month. The real challenge will be to sell the 400 new aircraft currently in storage after the anticipated fixes are completed.
