Centoco Holding, an Ontario-based plastics manufacturer, has taken delivery of 2018 Piaggio P180 Avanti Evo. The aircraft will be made available for charter flights. Centoco has also agreed to lease the Evo to Avanti for promotions and demonstrations.
Centoco chairman Anthony Toldo said, “I have been looking with interest at this distinctive, Italian aircraft since its entry into service. Not only is it the fastest turboprop [on the market], but it has incredibly low operating costs, and is eco-friendly."
First flown in 2014, the EVO is the most recent version of a design-concept that dates back to 1990 or earlier. Piaggio itself, dates to 1884, adding aviation design and building to its resume in the 1920s.
Vincenzo Nicastro, Piaggio’s state-appointed administrator, expects to issue a public tender for the company by early 2020. He says there have been more than 40 parties interested in taking over Piaggio. Nicastro said, “Our goal is to identify a new owner who is interested in taking over Piaggio in its entirety.”
