SpaceX Launches 60 Starlink Satellites with Previously Used Booster

SpaceX became the operator of the largest commercial satellite constellation following last night’s launch of 60 Starlink Satellites that will provide high-speed Internet service.

While launching satellites is not really news anymore, the success of SpaceX’s ability to recover and reuse the first-stage booster rockets repeatedly demonstrates strides in achieving a lower-cost-to-orbit for space businesses.

As if recovery of the booster was not enough, SpaceX is also trying to catch other parts of the rocket system for reuse, including the shrouds that protect the satellites during launch.

SpaceX has launched 182 satellites for Starlink.

According to SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, “…a constellation of 1000 Starlink satellites will make the system operational.”
