Brookfield Asset Management is [considering an acquisition](https://www.fool.com/investing/2019/08/10/how-to-invest-in-renewable-energy-stocks.aspx) of renewable energy company Pattern Energy.

Brookfield Asset Management and its subsidiary Brookfield Renewable Partners have been making major acquisitions to add to the company’s growing renewable energy portfolio. After taking control of then-bankrupt TerraForm Power in 2017, Brookfield’s renewable investments have done well and the company is now considering a merger between its TerraForm and Pattern Energy.
