NextEra Energy Resources plans to develop a 700-megawatt renewable energy facility that will be the largest co-located wind, solar, and energy storage project in the country.

By the end of the year, NextEra plans to commission the 250 MW Skeleton Creek onshore wind farm followed by the 250 MW Skeleton Creek Solar project and a 200 MW energy storage project.

“With the price of wind and solar energy lower than ever, we are now able to pair it with battery storage to make more affordable, renewable energy available to customers for more hours of the day – even when the wind isn’t blowing and the sun isn’t shining.” said John Ketchum, president and chief executive officer of NextEra Energy Resources.
