According to the American Wind Energy Association’s (AWEA) Third Quarter 2019 Report, there has been significant developments in the domestic onshore wind energy industry.

The AWEA reported that the third quarter of 2019 set a record for new installations at 1,927 megawatts of new wind energy commissioned during the period. This near 2 gigawatt (GW) gain pushed the country over the 100 GW threshold. Texas currently leads the wind energy market with more than 27 GW of installed capacity.

“Wind now supplies clean and efficient power to the equivalent of 32 million American homes, sustains 500 U.S. factories, and delivers more than one billion dollars a year in new revenue to rural communities and states,” AWEA CEO Tom Kiernan said in a statement.
