The International Renewable Energy Agency reported a 5% growth in total renewable energy generation in 2017.
These meaningful gains in worldwide renewable power generation capacity were driven by strong growth in solar, which increased 35% between 2106 and 2017. In total, renewable energy growth in 2017 was 293 terawatt hours higher than the previous year.
