25 MW Tesla Powerpack Battery to Come Online at South Australian Wind Farm

The utility-scale battery will add power storage options to the 278.5 MW Lake Bonney Wind Farm in South Australia.

The Lake Bonney Wind Farm currently generates enough renewable energy to power 110,000 homes – about 14% of the population in South Australia. Because wind energy is generated intermittently as wind speed allows, including massive battery backup systems like Tesla’s Powerpack in renewable energy system design greatly expands the facility’s ability to provide reliable, sustainable electricity to homes and businesses.

“Lake Bonney allows us to grow the volume of renewable energy we sell to commercial and industrial customers. We are pleased to be partnering with South Australian customers, communities and governments as we lead Australia’s transition to a clean energy future,” said Infigen’s Executive Director, Finance and Commercial Sylvia Wiggins.
