Amazon Music launched a high-fidelity digital audio subscription to its streaming music service.

Amazon Music joins the ranks of boutique high-quality streaming services like Tidal, Deezer, and Qobuz that offer higher-quality audio options than the likes of Spotify and Apple Music.  Amazon Music HD subscribers will have access to about 50 million songs in 16-bit/44.1 kilohertz quality audio and millions more in Ultra HD, which is up to 24-bit and 192 khz).

“Earth will be changed forever when Amazon introduces high-quality streaming to the masses,” Amazon HD supporter and rock all-star Neil Young told the New York Times. “This will be the biggest thing to happen in music since the introduction of digital audio 40 years ago.”
