Facebook, Google, Microsoft, and Adobe announced several cancellations and alterations of various upcoming conferences and events.

Google’s Cloud Next 2020 event, originally scheduled for April 6 through April 8, will now be held online only. Microsoft has made a similar move with its MVP Global Summit on March 15 through March 20, which the company moved from Washington state to online-only. Facebook has elected to not participate in SXSW, which is held in Austin, Texas every March. For its part, Adobe will be cancelling the live portion of its annual Adobe Summit, originally scheduled for March 29 through April 2 in Las Vegas.

“Over the past few weeks, we have been closely monitoring and evaluating the situation around COVID-19 to ensure we are taking the necessary measures to protect the health and wellbeing of Adobe Summit attendees,” Adobe said in a statement. “As a result, we have made the difficult but important decision to make Adobe Summit 2020 an online event this year and to cancel the live event in Las Vegas.” Google elected to go online-only for its Cloud Next 2020 event “out of an abundance of caution for the health and safety.”
