After years of planning an extensive marketing campaign, the Walt Disney Company is set launch its streaming app this week, Disney+, available for $6.99 per month.

After purchasing popular video streaming apps like Hulu and 21st Century Fox, Disney is launching its own streaming service unique to its titles from Marvel, Pixar, and others. Disney is among several movers in the streaming market vying for part of industry share, which is currently dominated by Netflix, which boasts 150 million subscribers worldwide. Market analysts have forecasted positively for Disney+ performance, particularly due to the company’s brand loyalty.

"The FX presence on Hulu, combined with original production from our ABC and Fox Television Studios and our Fox movie studios, including Searchlight, will greatly enhance Hulu's consumer proposition," Disney's CEO Bob Iger said in the earnings call last week.
