Samsung breaks new ground, launching the world’s first image sensor suitable for mobile phone applications that can capture photos at over 100 megapixels.
Tech giant Samsung released the first details of its latest phone camera sensor, which is capable of shooting 108-megapixel photos in brightly lit settings and 27-megapixel images when lights are dim.
"We are very pleased that picture resolutions previously available only in a few top-tier DSLR cameras can now be designed into smartphones," said Lin Bin, co-founder and president of Xiaomi.
