Lettuce got its start in beautiful Austin, Texas in 2016 when entrepreneur Yogesh Sharma, an avid amateur backyard farmer and a recent transplant from San Francisco, was on a long run and gawking at the huge open space around the city â almost all of it growing grass. He had always been curious about why local food wasnât a bigger part of the modern food ecosystem. And right there, all around him was the solution â plenty of good dirt, sun and water to grow food that could feed cities. After a couple of years of learning, adapting and nearly shutting down, Lettuce is driving forward under the leadership of well-known restauranteur Glynn Broussard, to accomplish itâs mission to bring healthy, local, sustainable food in delightful, easy and affordable ways, to people in Austin and around.
