When the Bank opened its doors in 1982, its name was Summit Savings and Loan Association and chartered as a savings and loan. Today the Bank is a commercial bank with $622M in assets, five branch locations, and more than 90 employees. In 2006, Summit State Bank became a publicly traded company on NASDAQ and is recognized by the symbol SSBI. Source
